Bruno’s software detects on the Internet company logos in images by means of pattern recognition. If Logo Hallucination determines a formal similarity, an e-mail is dispatched to the person having uploaded the image detailing under which circumstances the logo may be legally used.
This computer-generated hallucinating by the pattern recognition software – believing, for example, to have found the Atari company logo in the painting “The Music Lesson“ by Jan Vermeer – has prompted Christophe Bruno to critically and cynically challenge the rising commercialisation of the visual public sphere.
