Philippe Agrain mit 14 Thesen zu Urheberrecht und digitaler Kultur

Der Informatiker, Autor und Mitbegründer der Initiative „La Quadrature du Net”, Philippe Agrain, hat einen interessanten programmatischen Eckpunkte-Text unter dem Titel „Elements for the reform of copyright and related cultural policies” (auch hier) veröffentlicht, der viele Stränge der aktuellen Debatten zusammenführt. Er soll die Diskussion um eine Urheberrechtsreform nach dem Scheitern von ACTA wohl auch auf eine konstruktivere Ebene führen:
The stubborn efforts to impose the scarcity of copies and the control of use in the digital sphere have diverted us away from addressing the real challenges of digital culture. The main one comes precisely from the positive effects of IT and the Internet: more and more people engage into creative and expressive activities. (…) However, our social environment deprives many individuals from this potential development, and limits the others to some degree.
Es lohnt sich, den Text als Ganzes zu lesen, auch wenn man nicht mit seiner Position oder allen Forderungen übereinstimmt. Denn er zeigt auch gut auf, wie hinter den Urheberrechtsdebatten Konfliktlinien stehen, die die Politik gerade erst anfängt, zu erkennen.
